IBM Cognos 8 Mashup Service is an API that allow you to work with content from IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence as a Web Service for use in operational applications, business process management and mashups.
To work with this Web Service, please install the IBM Cognos Software Development Kit (SDK), 8.4.1 version or higher, on the server machine.
Do not confuse IBM Cognos 8 Mashup Service with IBM Cognos Software Development Kit (SDK).

IBM Cognos Mashup Service offer two service interfaces:
- Representational State Transfer(REST). This interface uses basic HTTP requests.
- Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). This interface can be used to programmatically access the CMS API.
